It's not crazy at all. I've never followed a band before. I'm going through my groupie phase 20 years late. I haven't been to a concert since probably 1994 and I can't wait to see Travis live. I discovered them late last summer, just weeks after they were here. :o( I'm excited about the new album, but they're all new to me! |

I've looked forward to many albums. The Boy With No Name was delayed nearly 2 years so I was looking forward to that for a long time. Fran originally said "next June" meaning June 2005 but I've never been this excited about an album before. |

Dougie gave us 2 lots of studio diaries. Late '05 and early '06 but then we heard nothing more until 2007. They did 4 gigs and played a few new songs last March but we already knew the release date of May 7th and the band had song by song, once a week put a new song up onto myspace for people to hear if they wanted to. Me and quite a few others didn't listen and decided to wait for the album. Its strange knowing so much about the album (Fran or any member hasn't done a mixing blog session before) and in my case and others knowing the basic songs so very well but being so many months away from the album release. :) |

I've only been on here since before TBWNN, but I seem to remember everyone being quite excited then :) Closer wasn't quite the uber-song that J Smith is though, but they put each of the first 7 tracks (and Colder) on myspace, which was pretty exciting :D
EDIT: Sorry, didn't read your myspace bit until after I posted. :) |

People did get excited in 2007 with myspace etc but I wouldn't say there was a huge amount of excitement throughout 2005 and 2006. Like people on the site have said, for some reason this album is so exciting compared to before. |

I Came in Through the Bathroom Window Posted Fri 11 Apr, 2008 8:36 PM |
This is the first Travis album I'm "actively" waiting. I started buying Travis' albums in 2004, and when TBWNN came out, I found out about it like a week before it did, and went to buy it when it was released. It wasn't even on the shelves of the record store yet :o).
But I've waited for other band's albums to come out. Anyway, I think this is the most exciting "waiting" I've experienced :oD

Yeah, obviously you need to know it's coming out before you're excited, but it was good around the release :)
I doubt whether they'll put any album songs on myspace, it seems to much of a whole album to pit out bits. Also, they want to keep us waiting until we all hear it suddenly all in one go, I reckon, hence the huge amount of tantalising blogs ;) Nah, the blogs are good :D |

Yeah and MySpace doesn't exactly suit the old way of doing things style too. I hope we only hear the single before the album comes out. :) |
