Something Anything is amazing. I love Andy's guitar solo. Its the rawest, rockiest song on the album and if I remember correctly, the live one (it might have changed slightly in the studio) is just under 2mins 20secs. Long Way Down next which is also brilliant and rocking! :) That's a bit longer at about 2:40 I think. |

I've only heard a little bit of each song, from that guy who sent them to me on youtube, but I haven't listened to them much since.
I think I'll wait though. Plus, I bet they will sound very different from the live versions.
Ah! I'm so excited though! |

I like that it reads more like a diary of Frans time in New York, interspersed with info on the mix. hee hee.
Wonder if it's not too retrospective enough to be able to ask questions just now, similar to the recording sessions? |

I hope they don't sound very different to the live versions because the live versions are brilliant. I never listened to any of The Boy before that came out unlike most people here but this time I decided to have a change. I can't wait to hear the studio versions. Louder, clearer etc of course. It's so exciting. It's going to be my favourite Travis album I think!!! :) |

Moray: ask Fran a question, he might answer. If not in the blog, maybe on the board. |

I knew the bad part about restraining myself from accessing informations would've been the next blog...
i think I feel like a drug addict trying to quit, with a fix left just there as a temptation.... |

I've seen them live and I have recordings of the songs (not all the songs though). Of course, its only the live songs which a lot of other people have heard. How they'll end up on the album, only the people involved in the recording and mixing the album will know. I don't understand why the band would put very different versions on the album considering that the 5 gigs were to practise the songs ready for the studio because of the way in which they were recording and the short time they had.
My next prediction: blog 4 for Tuesday. ;) |

This is Andy's most accomplished Travis record to date. From the delicate arpeggio of Friends to the howling clatter of Before You Were Young and everything in between, he nails it.
Oh, i'm so gonna love this album! :D
Fran, dear, could you please give us a hint how long will you torture us like this? (although you do it in such a pleasant way ;) Could you please tell us at least the season when can we expect the album - summer? late summer? early autumn?? *sigh* |

I bet Fran isn't sure of the date yet, you know with all the business side of things. I'm sure he'll tell us as soon as possible. Let's hope that's soon, it is hard not knowing! :)
My theory this time: Not counting weekends, we've got the blogs every 3 days. :) |
