today i was walking to work and saw the campus landscapers raking so early in the morning. i thought, "hey that might be a sucky job... i know mine is!" (i'm a test proctor for disabled students) sooo, i decided to write a little appreciation for those who do crappy jobs (like those seen on "dirty jobs" from the discovery channel)

Oh I would hate to have your job.
If I did, I'd probably sob.
I have to deal with a gay guy named Andrew.
If he keeps annoying me, I'll probably sue
him for every cent in his schizophrenic mind.
The office goth guy would enjoy it if we bind
Andrew up in some Scotch tape and computer cord.
I want to be an artist but this is what I can afford.
At least I'm not a waitress or garbage guy,
since all I do is sit at a computer and sigh.
I don't flip hamburgers, but thanks to those who do,
for you I give the credit of my large waist line to.
I'm not a coffee wench, maid, or whore.
If I was a day-care provider I'd probably roar
at all the little dweebs and brats alike.
I'd never make it with newspapers and a bike.
My mother takes care of disabled kids,
since they don't remember to close the toilet lid.
We all need the money,
and we do what we can.
Thank you janitors, farmers, truckers,
and all who call themselves part of the working class man. |
