I was a vegetarian for awhile but I started eating meat again. Mainly because it just tastes good.
But I do feel we should treat the animals we eat in a humane way while they are alive. And they should be slaughtered humanely as well. |

Meat! Yeah, serve it!
Somehow I don't think this thread is going in the direction intended. |

i must admit, i do like meat. but the thing is, i love veggies and fruit much more than meat.
homosapiens are omnivores. we need to eat both meat and veggies. just like bears and other animals. it isn't always cruelty (unless you are a stupid ass major commercial company).
and don't forget, a lot of people in the world eat insects as their main source of protein. not everyone can eat soy products (i'm allergic to it). we are part of the upper levels of the food chain, so we are needed to control populations.
there you go, your fix of scientific reasoning for the day. |

Yeah I was feeling a bit sorry for you Aida that you weren't finding any other vegetarians to bond with.
Glad you aren't a hater of us meat eaters. That bugs me. |

always sharp kayte :) *mumbles about bekah's and mooray's whereabouts for herself*
it's really interesting ands satisfying (i'm not one of those 'I hate meat eaters' vegetarian) reading what people have to tell about meat eating :)
It's our aggressive, blood-thirsty, carnivorous personalities that compel us to butt in on a thread intended for passive vegetarians. |

We were discussing this very theme in a pub (surprise, surprise) a while back. Two new dads were all for it, plus the whole organic thing, fucking hippies. The arguement was getting a little heated to which one of the new das came away with the imortal line "it's all about choice" (gay), and was greated with the reply...
"Vegitarianism isn't a choice, it's a disease!!"
