I read it yesterday on a news-site on internet. I was really shocked because I didn't even know he was ill. :(

I thought George Martin was the 5th Beatle or even Stuart Sutcliffe or perhaps Brian Epstien or even Pete Best ???

Yeah, when I first read the headline, I didn't know who it was, because Stu, Pete, George Martin, Neil Aspinall and Mal Evans, they all were once named "the fifth Beatle"...
But he was kind of close to the band, he knew them from the very first on and was always with them... but he never was part of the band. Anyway, it's just sad that he had to go! |

Rubbish, sounds as a very bad rumour to me though I've never heard anything about it. People always told many things about the Beatles and people who were close to them and not half about it is true!
