...is from another tune.
It's like a children's nursery rhyme or a traditional song or something. I'm wracking my brains trying to think what it is, but i can't get it!
Any help? |

Hey Paul!
Wasn't it kind of modeled after "Across the Universe" ?? That sounds familiar, not sure though. |

I thought of Across The Universe the first time I ever listened to As You Are... |

Bowie covered it but it was made famous by an everso slightly populuar group of four young lads from Liverpool.

Nah, i don't think it's a popular culture song. Pretty sure it's like a nursery rhyme or a children's song or something. It just reminds me of something i knew when i was wee |

Ok, so the music in that sounds like As You Are! But i'm talking about the words people. The melody of the lyric!
The bit that goes "it's ok to lead me on, i must admit it's not much fun, to be led on by such a one..." is definitely lifted from another song! |

I'd like to be somebody else and not know where I've beeen. Try singing that bit of Shakermaker by Oasis to it. It sort of works for a bit. |

No it's a nursery rhyme or a kid's song, definitely!
Maybe a hymn or one of them songs you get in a music book in class as a kid?
AAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!! |

There is a kids song that sounds like Shakermaker to me when I try and sing it, but I have no idea what the words to it are, or the actual melody coz I immediately go into Shakermaker from it.
I'd like to teach the world to sing...? Is that anything? |
