Well, I bought a past magazine, and I found the key why do we love travis?

People don´t care about us, and that´s great

August 14-20 2000, The Big Issue

The irony is that the same qualities (nice, polite, down-to-earth) that make the affable Glaswegians – officially Britain´s biggest rock band – imposible to dislike in person have made them prime targets for anybody lamenting the current state of British music.
Liam Gallagher said of the band that they lacked that indefinable “wooooaargh”, a criticism they donpt dispute. Healy happily describes Travis as “inconspicuous” and “neutral”.

The fact that Travis only headlined this year´s Glastunbury festival after organizers had very publicy failed to secure either Oasis or Radiohead only compounded the sense that the four scots have been prematurely promoted from rock´s subs´ bench to captains of the national team. Yet despite the absence of oldfashioned ingredients such as glamour, danger, anger and sex.

The Man Who, has sold almost three millions copies only at UK, There´re about 21 million households in Britain. “That means one in seven houses have this record.

What do people dislike about Travis?

“I don´t know. We´re mad. Ha ha! Nah, I don´t know what they dislike. Me probably. I don´t care though, because i´m crystal clear about what i´m doing. Said Fran Healy
Unlike the Gallaghers or Richard Ashcroft, Travis don´t shout from rooftops about their ambition to be a great band, but they´re no less driven.

Apart from hard work self-belief and catchy tunes, the secret of their success is that there is no secret.

“It´s all accidental”, says Healy, slightly disingenuously. “We fell into the band and we failed for six years (Glass Onion). People would come up to us and say “You´re shit”, and we were shit, but we just kept going at it. It´s the stupid factor” Said Fran.

Thank you , boy with no name ! ( I don't know your name , right?) haha .

I can't buy the magazine but you brought me a bit to read from there .

And about the article , I love their honesty , I think the key of their success is the fact they worked too much for it and every effort is rewarded . They suffered a lot I think .

Anyhow , I also think they are PURITY at all .

it reminds me of The Cranberries first album's title, pretty much along the same lines as "everybody else is doing it, so why can't we?"

I am in love with Travis. I never really thought about who was my favorite band but I can not deny now that it is Travis. Their music speaks to my soul & so many of their songs remind me of good times in my life. When my friends and I write letters or emails we always write quotes either in the subject line or on the envelopes. So many times their lyrics say what we want to say. Meeting the band was literally a dream come true they were so patient, kind and funny. For Christmas this year I gave Travis CD's trying to spread the love. Because anyone who does not like Travis is a fool. =)
