I have no idea why this popped in my head today but I busted out laughing when I remembered this girl I encountered in London a few years ago.

My friend (a guy) and I were getting on a bus pretty late at night and we were sitting there talking quietly when this girl in the seat behind says REALLY loudly, "Are you Americans????"

I say yes but am really nervous because you never know what's coming next but she starts saying she loves it there or whatever. My friend is distracted by something and she quietly says to me, "Are you two together?" and I said, "Oh no, I'm married."

And she says, "But are you f**king him?"

Me: Uh, no

She then proceeds to totally hit on my friend.

I like that even though I say I married the point of whether or not I am involved with my friend needs to be clarified. Nice of her to check in before she makes a move though.

Maybe it's more about manners:
Even if you think someone has a poor moral center and is having an affair doesn't mean you can be impolite. You should still have good manners and inquire if they are f**king before your flirtation begins. It's especially important when crossing cultural boundaries to show this courtesy.
