Here it is, the cumbia version of Sing (Canta), by La López (??). Nacho is the one who found it.
I hope it doesn't make you cry...
When I first heard it I was between crying and laughing.
La López - Canta
Maybe we could add it to the "how to ruin a song" thread...
Edit: I'm adding the translation of the rap parts here. The rest of the song is just a poor, literal translation of the original lyrics.
Detente, piensa, disfruta este momento
Stop, think, enjoy this moment
no guerra, no odio, no gente más sufriendo
no war, no hate, no more people suffering (actually it's not correct spanish, so it'd be "no people more suffering")
si cantas, si amas, todo al mismo tiempo
if you sing, if you love, all at the same time
verás que todo el mundo ha esperado este suceso
you'll see that the whole world has been waiting for this event
yeah, yeah, eso es así
yeah, yeah, this is like this
no más guerra, bajen las armas para un mundo feliz
no more war, put down your weapons for a happy world
los niños a coro te reclamarán
the children all together will demand you
que cantes, que cantes para la humanidad
to sing, to sing for humanity
Isn't it beautiful? :oP
Then the kids say something that to me sounds like "si-ga-so", but apparently it's "sing a song".
*shrugs*

I can't stop crying, I don't know if it is because I'm laughing soo hard, or because I can't believe how they make this good song sound like crap... |

I know!!! I can't decide what's the worst thing about it: the way that woman is singing it in spanish, the rap parts or the kids in the end... I think it's an explosive combination!
I wonder where La López is from... |

The rap parts made me laugh really hard xD, I wonder what the heck were they thinking about when they decided to include those crappy parts.

Ha ha! When the woman was singing, I was thinking, she's not so bad, everyone is being kinda hard on her--and then the man came in with his rap! OH MY! Okay...time to learn how to DELETE songs off of my iTunes. Another learning experience courtesy of the Travis Messageboard. |

I wasn't sure if I was going to listen until I read this thread and saw there is a rap part. Oh. my.
It's still downloading but I am already laughing imagining someone dressed like this singing a Travis song (this is from her website)

I second everything Kayte has said. This is probably the second song I've ever had to delete. I actually might save it to play as punishment.
I had to put my head down on my desk when the rap started I was laughing so hard. He growls. |

Jaja, bajalo pero asegurate de no tener ningún objeto con el que puedas suicidarte a mano :oP
The rap parts are too much! And what that guy says has nothing to do with the lyrics of the original song xD. |
