Hi everyone,
This may seem like an odd request but I am sitting my Maths GCSE in June and I've just discovered another piece of coursework that needs finishing before the end of the month. It's an investigation into pulse rates and I haven't got enough data to plot graphs etc... I was wondering if any of you lovely people could help me out by:
Taking your resting pulse rate (i.e. before any exercise or high levels of activity)
Do 2 minutes of activity (I mean like running on the spot or cycling on an exercise bike)
Then taking your pulse rate directly after the activity.
If you could post your results and your age I would be very, very greatful. I need a fairly wide range of ages so kids can participate too.
You can take your pulse either for 30 seconds and double it or take it for a full minute. Taking your pulse at your wrist is preferable but you can take it on your neck too. To find it on your wrist just follow the line of your thumb down to your wrist.
Thanks :-)

Lol, maths GCSE, poor you :(
I would do it, but it involves exercise, which is putting me off. Also, I've never been able to find my pulse, I think it may not exist. :) Good luck though! |

Yep I hate maths lol. I'm quite good at it but the subject itself just fries my brain. I'd prefer it if I could enter at the foundation level but I have to take the higher papers to get into college.
I have a friend who can't find/doesn't have her pulse. I think she may be a zombie. |

Lol I'm home educated so I only have to do Maths, English and Human Physiology so no gym classes for me ;-)
Thanks for the results :)
P.S. I just realised I need your age to put on my results too, cheers |
