I'm writing my column on Polish Easter traditions this week. I'm going to my babcia's house today to make pisanki. I've never tried it, but I hear it's a painstaking process. Have you ever done this where you dip the egg in wax and all that?

We don't really pay much attention to the Easter traditions in my family. I've never done the wax thing, but I know they look awesome then!
The only time I've ever made pisanki was when I was a little girl and I used water-colours as far as I remember. lol.

I've never made them either...but my mom keeps some old pisanki she made in her 20s in a crystal bowl in our dining room china cabinet. They're gorgeous and it looks like it took her hours on each egg! If mine turn out any good, I'll post pictures.

Off to babcia's house. Later! :O)
