Howard Carter wrote this as part of his memoirs and it struck me as being so beautiful. Throughout his discovery of the endless Gold objects and in the coffin itself , how simple emotion does not change over the 3300 centuries:
- " but perhaps the most touching by its human simplicity was the tiny wreath of flowers around these symbols, as it pleased us to think ,the last farewell offering of the widowed girl-queen to her husband.
Among all that royal magnificance there was nothing so beautiful as those few withered flowers , still retaining their tinge of colour."
Fascinating reading from the archeologist , has anyone been yet?
