I was just thinking while driving home from the Nottingham gig last night about this, and I reckon I'd go for
Keane's 'Somewhere Only We Know', because I love the song and wish it had been one of Travis', would love to see what my favourite band made of one of my favourite songs and how they'd arrange it and stuff.
And I also think a tribute to Tenacious D's 'Tribute' would be hilarious and go down really well in the atmosphere of a live gig.
Anyone else got any ideas? |

But they have in a way already, "After Mark And Lard Go" is an adaption of that song.
A straight studio cover as a b-side would be good though.
Other cover songs performed live that have not been studio Travis b-sides yet:-
Lola - The Kinks
Another Sleep Song - Graham Nash
Back In Black - AC/DC
When You Were Young - The Killers
We definitely need these as b-sides
Everyday Is Like Sunday - Morrissey
Faith - George Michael
Heroes - David Bowie
Last Christmas - Wham!
Lovely Rita - The Beatles
Merry Xmas Everybody - Slade
Nobody Does It Better - Carly Simon
Rocket Man - Elton John
Space Oddity - David Bowie
Suspicious Minds - Elvis Presley
Wichita Lineman - Glen Campbell
You've Got To Hide Your Love Away - The Beatles |

Killing Me Softly with His Song
Haha I don't know. The idea of stripped down guitar version of that has been in my head since Hugh Grant and Nicholas Hoult did their disturbing version in About a Boy lol. |

Great thread!
Well, I think it would be fantastic, if they could do "Lady In Black" from Uriah Heep. Love this song and I think it would sound great!
And as I am a real fan of the Beatles, there where some things I'd like to hear: "For No One" for example, or "It's Only Love" or "Day Tripper" (As you can see for "Toney Boney", they know how it would work... ) ;) |

I think some oasis songs...
Travis has influences from Oasis, then... some oasis songs are good to make a cover.
I wanna listen don`t look back in anger or wonderwall, a clasical oasis song. |

Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street, 'cos it's well good. I don't know if any of the band members can play the sax, but if not I expect them to take a crash course until they can! Maybe Claus is a secret expert. :p |

What a great thread. Unfortunately, I can't think of anything I'd like to hear at the moment. I do adore their version of Back in Black though. Any Beatles/Paul McCartney cover would make me happy.
It just occurred to me that I've never heard any bands do Travis covers...are there any out there? |

I can't think of any, no. So it's about time that someone done one (As long as it's good)
However your username got me thinking.
My Sharona by The Knack anyone?
