Hey Fran, is it OK to use the music from our versions of Friends for our own songs? i.e. i change the words and make it a different song, since i wrote the music and melody for my version. Is this OK or will there be some sort of copyright infringement..?

Might as well send this back to the top...

I can't see why you shouldn't use it, as you will have composed the lyrics and the melody, so it will be like any other song, except with a rhythm that fit Friends as well.

Right. It was just something we did for fun. There was no implication that Travis would "own" our versions. I'm sure they wouldn't want most of them! It's your music and your words. I don't see a problem.

I can't see why it would be a problem. Different music, different words = different song... right?

Can't imagine our lovely Fran would have a problem with that. :)
