Very good gig last night, spoilt a little bit by the crowd' prospensity to talk through the new songs and the less familiar ones. The new songs mostly seemed to have a rockier edge and some of them were only just over a couple of minutes long as well. Other parts of the set were a bit rawer and rockier than I'd seen in the US and at Glasgow. Looking forward to Portsmouth tonight. Pretty much the same set in the same order :
Chinese Blues
J Smith
Something Anything
Long Way Down
Broken Mirror
Friends
Get Up
The Last Word
Quite Free
Sorry To Self
Before You Went
Sing
Eyes Wide Open
Last Laugh Of The Laughter
Love Will Come Through
Sailing Away
Side
The Fear
Writing To Reach You
Falling Down
Lola
Selfish Jean
Closer |

Why did they finish with Closer? What a strange way to end such a rocky gig. Maybe they're not going to do All I Want To Do Is Rock because of Andy but still, they've got plenty of other old rockers. Can't wait to hear these new songs!!!!! |

yep, same doubt, finishing with Closer, I don't get it, the obvious was to play selfih jean and just stop it there (or maybe a few more rock songs if there was any left! oohhh tied to the 90's haha) GOOD LUCK TONIGHT! :) |

There's plenty they could have chosen from Good Feeling that would have been a great finish or swap Closer and Selfish Jean round. But i'm sure it was an awesome gig anyway, but just a strange way to end it. |

I hate people talking too. I was at an Athlete gig recently and at a really quiet moment suddenly there was this burst of laughter that went on for what seemed like ages from this group of girls. Really annoying. |
