1. Calling any crisis "xxxxxgate". Gate isn't a suffix that means scandal. Just 'cause Watergate was a scandal, doesn't mean every scandal is a gate!

2. "The race to win the presidencial elections"; "race"? Does the winner finish first these days? I thought all the results of the contest were announced at the same time.

3. Tabloid-style humour trying to become witty. e.g. "And the weather tommorow is expected to be like the Footsie: up one moment, down the other.... What the hell? If that's the sort of joke you'll come up with, don't tell jokes!

4. Crap T.V..

5. Increased T.V. licences to pay for this lower quality T.V..

6. Jeremy Paxman.

I had no idea that happened in other countries besides the US. It annoys me too.

I think everything switches over to hi-def by Feb. 2009. Isn't that right?

nope...everything goes digital then...which may mean hi-def for some stations.

BBC America is on my Dish Network right now...which is digital, but not hi-def...but they said it would be....new Kitchen Nightmares starts on Thursday and I want it in hi-def...damnit...

I guess it's not just the Beeb but why is everybody shouting on these news programmes ? Seems nobody can speak normally these days. *turns volume down*

SO with you on this especailly.

NOthing after 9pm to watch last night - the more channels we have the worse the viewing quality is! Trite, trite and more tirte. I keep catching myself shouting and the TV a) to correct their grammar (and not just the Sports presenters) and be because i am fed up of being dumbed down to. 'And . . . . ?' is what i often say. 'ANd the point is', 'and this means what', and 'can i have my license fee back'!

Jeremy Paxman gets on my nerves because he's always trying to embarass people. Even on his gaeshow "University challenge" he makes fun of these OxBridge students who know a hell of a lot more than I ever will. Smug bastard.

The countdown programmes (e.g. best catchphrases, best programmes of the '90s...) piss me off becausethey last for 2hours, repeat themselves within the programme by reshowing the same comments by 3rd rate comedians and "celebrities" and are aired twice in the space of a month during primetime viewing. What the Hell, man?!!

One of the few good things to come out of the BBC in recent months (U.K. viewers only).

Argghh!! Don't get me started on the TV Licence! It drives me MAD!!! I think it's the fact we don't get any choice in the matter that bugs me. We didn't have a tv for 6 months and we kept getting really threatening letters from the TV Licence people about how we were criminals and they were going to come round and get us cos they thought we were lying. They never did actually come round but I so wish they had...I would have loved to have seen them seraching for a non-existent tv. Gits.

Oh, I get it. Thanks Moz. I knew it was something like that. I'm not sure if you're a hockey nut like I am, but what bothers me is that my Red Wings schedule lists which games are in hi-def...but when you switch over from FSN to the hi-def channel it's "off-air" half the time. It's so annoying!!!

Hang on, if you hate their programs in the first place, why do you want to watch them again? :S

Actually, I like a helping of Jeremy from time to time. It's the hugely arrogant, self-centred, egotistical, opinionated rants that amuse me in the same way that Jeremy Clarkson does. Maybe it's a Jeremy thing?

Do you get University Challenge in America? Fantastic program! :D

I was discussing the beeb the other day with some friends (geek chat, great innit) and what the bbc does do well is theme tune for their sports shows:

Match of the Day

Grandstand

Ski Sunday

Snooker

The Cricket

Formula 1

Wimbledon

Awesome.
