I just read it's the Smurf's 50th anniversary. I used to be obsessed with Smurfs. I watched the cartoon every Saturday and I collected the little Smurf figurines. I kept my favorite one. Just a plain Smurf sitting down doing nothing. Anyone else like them? |

I so wanted to be the girl smurf!! I don't know her name in English, but here in Argentina she was called PITUFINA.
Even though I was way too young back then (about 3 or 4 years old), I loved them and still do. :D |

On the top shelf of my kitchen cupboards are my Smurf water glasses. I never use them but can't quite throw them away. I'm sure they'll be collector items someday, lol.

Hate them ! Deeply !!
I´ve always been a little bit small, so sometimes my classmates at school used to call me smurf.
Thought I've got over it, but it seems I haven't. Hate them !!! :-P |

I liked them a lot too. I read that story today and I had no idea they were 50! I would have put them at 35-40 years max. What the heck happened to Saturday morning cartoons on the regular stations by the way? |

That's a really good question! I never liked the smurfs. We had a few of those Smurf glasses too, but I always liked drinking out of our Muppets ones instead.
We also had a Smurfs game for our ColecoVision, and that was the limit to my Smurf exposure.
