It's nothing serious... At least for the most of the people I know.
For me it is. Maybe it's just that I'm crazy but... Here I am.
When I talk about music everyone around me just... Stop listen to me.
It's a simple thing, but it makes me mad.
Today a friend of mine was making a fanmix with other friends, it was a fanmix based on a couple.
They just missed a song, so they put in that fanmix "Closer" and than they asked me what I was thinking about that choice.
I just told them "I don't think it's appropriate. I mean, the lyric doesn't fit with that relationship and it's just... If you want to I can tell you some other Travis song to put in it" and they told me "no, we think it's just appropriate and it's the only Travis' song we know."
Ok, here's the problem:
I love closer, don't get me wrong but...
But I have some serious problem, because I'm so tired of people that use that song just to close some hole.
I don't know if I can explain it in the right way but...
When I make a fanmix I just search all the right songs and, if I like the voice or the sound of some band but I don't have any song that it's appropriate... I just search some other song of that band.
And ok, maybe it's just because they used a Travis song to seem "cool" because that song is famouse in here but Travis are an "alternative" band.
But I'm just pissed off right now.
So...
Ok, I stop here...
Just wanted to pull it out.
(And sorry if I didn't explain very well but... My english is a little bit limitated...) |

I was thinking about it but... You know what? I don't care about the mix!
I just care about the fact they're using a song of my favourite band just to be "cool" and "alternative".

and? so what? Is it your mix? If they are passing off something to be cool and alternative how exactly does it effect you?

This things don't bother me until some people ask me "what do you think?"
In that case yes, They bother me.
I know it's not the end of the world. I told it in the beginning of my post, but still...
If I ask something to a person I just sit and wait the answer and listen the answer.
But maybe I'm just insane.

Yes and no. I agree that most of the time that's true, but sometimes you have to stick up for what you think. If you feel someone is insulting or ignoring your views, you sometimes need to confront them, if only to make them see the other side.
Also, messageboards are a great way of venting anger, just go along with the flow and it will dissipate! :P |

just wanted to say. i totally understand you.
my problem is only.. you know, im not from an english mother language country (?) so i often dont understand lyrics or get them not 100% right.. so i need just the feeling.
might they took closer because closer makes them feel good?
