Okay, Fran said to post them up...
Fran wrote: Brilliant. MORE EVERYONE. You have laid down the gauntlet...
Here are the words so you can create your own version (I corrected the spelling of 'deceive'...i before e except after c Franny):
"Friends" (words subject to change)
Who cheers you up
When you are down
Who brings you cups of coffee
Who picks you up
When you're in town
Whatever makes you happy
And I'm glad you're better now
But I'm sad you're not around
Friends
Won't ever desert you
Or turn against
Friends
Won't love you and leave you
To mend the fence
Who wakes you up
When you're late for work
Who makes the bed so lovely
Who found your sock
Who pressed your shirt
Whatever makes you love me
And I'm glad I'm better now
But I'm just sad you're not around
Friends
Will never deceive you
Or turn against
Friends
Won't love you and leave you
To mend the fence...
...so let's do it on this thread only. I'll move your link up to this post so they are all in one place (I know they're not in order of who submitted first...but tough sh*t)

I'm glad I wasn't the only one slightly annoyed by the growing number of threads relating to the same topic. :) Thanks Mozzy. |

Yep definitely makes sense to have them all together. Besides, all these friends posts are taking the attention away from Song Showdown! xD |

I cant believe I did this but I recorded a version on my phone and it wont send as the file is too big to send. Not sure if that is a relief or not! |

I made up my own version last night in bed while I was trying to fall asleep. I don't know if I can translate what's in my mind into reality, though! It is interesting to find out how different songwriters operate--melody first then lyrics or lyrics first, then melody. If someone had given me a melody and I had to come up with lyrics, I would have found that easier then doing it the other way around. I also found it hard to stay original. Other song melodies kept popping in, and then I'd think, nooo, that's already been done. It was fun to try. I wish I had a better singing voice. Or was a good enough musician that my playing would drown it out! |
