This follows on from the thread on the other bit.
My first proper single was
Ultravox's Vienna.
loved it at the time but now it seems really slow. |

That was the first cd someone gave me :oP.
The first one I bought with my own money was also Singles by Travis. I was between that one and Hopes and Fears by Keane... no regrets at all! |

But not really any worse either! Although to be fair, the Spice Girls have gone through that same renaissance as Take That since they've reformed, so are a little bit 'cool' now. MC Hammer has not and is not cool.
Hammer was my first cassette album. My first CD's I got were R.E.M. Automatic for the People, Nirvana Unplugged in N.Y and Aerosmith Greatest Hits - when my folks joined Britannia Music Club (Anyone remember them?!). |

I agree- not any worse!! I don't really think they're even 'kinda' cool now, but back then, when I was 9- oh man! They were the coolest girls in the world! ;) But still, I feel quite embarrassed when I realize what a 'good music' meant to me... Bah.
And I don't remember my first CDs- buy I'm sure it was something rockish... |
