Man stabbed to death over hat

I kid you not, unfortunately.

In the night between Friday and Saturday, a 19-year-old man was walking down the high street with his pal, wearing a warm hat (it was a very cold night). They're approached by 3 young men who tell him to hand over the hat or face the consequences. When he refuses to hand over the hat, they stab him - first in the leg and then straight in the heart. The pal gets off with a punch in his face.

How stupid is that?? Make yourself a f*cking murderer over a f*cking hat?? Stuff like this makes me really angry.

It happened in Copenhagen two days ago. I haven't been able to find any articles about this in English, unfortunately.

It's so unbelievably stupid to stab someone in the first place, and the fact that it was because of a hat makes it even more ridiculous.

Good question; maybe he also thought it was stupid to threaten someone for a hat, and didn't expect them to go ahead and stab him. Dunno.

Something similar happened to my boyfriend once. He was stabbed on the leg because he told the guy to buy his own hat and that it was very cheap at "lider" (a supermarket)...at the end had to give him the hat because he didn't wanted his little cousin to suffer any consequence.

Sometimes you wear something that it's not just a thing.
If someone would tell me to give to him my bracelet... I would say no.
Because it's a precious thing. A gift. And there's no way that I would give it away without fight.
No way.

But yes, it's just crazy. Some people are just crazy.
And the world sucks. Every day more.

No matter how precious an item is to me, my life is by far more precious. Nothing is worth more to me than that!

Yeah, maybe.
But I'm a material girl.
I just have things and memories. And memories sooner or later fade away... So...
Things.

I agree with that, but on the flipside, the person in question probably wasn't thinking "I'd better hand this hat over or I will get stabbed in the heart".

I'd be the same. I'd be all "No way are you getting my fucking hat!". Although I probably wouldn't be wearing one, since it would mess with my hair.

So in conclusion, don't stab people over hats.

I don't think someone would wear a hat outside if it had major sentimental value, as hats often get blown away or stolen by the nearest drunk person. Unless it was like fastened to your head, or like a beanie hat.
