I know that Travis' Selfish Jean beat is very close to Iggy Pop's "Lust for Life" but Jet also copied it with "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" ... anyone notice that?

Yeh it's just a drum beat at the end of the day though so its hardly crazy plagerism.
The real downer is not when you notice how similar it is to iggy pop but whne you find yourself singing the verse to Reach for the stars! |

Really looking forward to this - if it gets the airplay it could easily be THE song to really get people interested in Travis again. Unfashionable bands can suddenly become flavour of the month again - look at Embrace after they released Ashes. And much as I love Travis I get the sense casual music fans aren't that bothered anymore.
First time I heard SJ on MySpace I was bouncing around like a nutter with a huge grin on my face thinking 'welcome back!'. Much more than the songs leaked before that. |

| Having seen the videos for 'selfish jean' and 'three times and you lose' I would say that 'three times and you lose' is the next single as the vid for selfish jean doesnt look "official" just a guess though. |

| Everyone round these parts thinks Selfish Jean, it's almost certainly true... And they are selling the T-shirts at the gigs, so their must be some officiality in there somewhere. |

another issue to talk about is how many singles are going to be released from TBWNN, because on The Times Sound podcast interview with Fran and Dougie, Fran talks about making videos for all the songs on the album!! So there could be possible dvd thing or a lot of singles!!
