Hi guys,
So, I have been lurking for some time reading the boards..this is the first time I am really posting because I am in desperate need of some advice.
Ok, so here's the deal. I'm from Los Angeles, have been a HUGE Travis fan for many years now and I just did something crazy and bought tickets to the Glasgow gig. I'm already going to be over in France around that time on a trip with some family. I figured, this was my chance to see my favorite band in Glasgow.
So, what I'm really looking for is any advice about what is the best way to get from Paris to Glasgow and where to stay. I'm trying to figure out who's going to join me seeing as I have an extra ticket. If anybody is meeting up beforehand and going together perhaps I could tag along?? I would love to meet some fellow Travis fans!
Anyways, let me know what you guys think!
Thanks!

According to the Glasgow Airport url, only easyjet fly from CDG to Glasgow direct.

Try expedia also. They'll figure out other possible routes, e.g. changeover in London.

Looks like it'll all be fairly expensive with it being around the holidays.
It is possible you could take the eurostar (Channel Tunnel Train) to London, then train it up to Glasgow. No idea how cost effective that is, or how to book though. |

I'm flying to Edinburgh, which is also an option. It's an 1-hour trip from Glasgow (by train). |

Edinburgh option is probably better than Prestwick - Prestwick isn't anywhere near anywhere!! And the transport to/from the airport is pretty infrequent and poor. |

I'd say flying is probably cheaper than taking a train. I'll be in London for New Year so we're taking a train up from London. Staying at the Central Travelodge which is pretty cheap for a hotel.
Good luck! Lots of international's flying in for this show! |
