"The Shock Doctrine" by Naomi Klein (done)
"Blackwater" by James Scahill (done)
Just finished, "A Fairytale of New York" by JP Dunleavy (great stuff, highly recommend this one as well as his "The Ginger Man"),
started last night "The Life of Kingsley Amis" by some guy whose name I've not memorized yet 'la.

these books are must reads (in my opinion) but the only problem is you'll never want to leave the house because you'll be so depressed by what Cheaney and Co. have allowed happen to this planet.
I just finished Pope Joan for my book club. Not sure I would recommend that one. I've heard good reviews of Blackwater. I'll have to check it out. |

"A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickins.
I'm up to the part where Scrooge meets the ghost of Christmas Present. "Come in! Come in! and know me better, man!" |

I'm a hopeless Salinger junkie, so I'm always reading one of his books.
Right now I'm reading Rapid Response by Dr. Stephen Olvey. |

Aww, it's Eano! You made an appearance, yay! How goes it? If you're still around that is :)
And, I am currently reading and almost done with "The Year of Living Biblically: One Man's Humble Quest to Follow the Bible as Literally as Possible" By A.J. Jacobs. It's quite funny and easy to put down and pick back up, which is a must when you have a toddler constantly getting in the way of reading time :) |

Touching from a Distance - Debbie Curtis (Ian's wife)
a bit scary as she refuses to idolise or put a gloss over things.

ooooh all that educated stuff you're reading!
Just about to finish a Elizabeth George -Inspector Linley crime novel.
After that I think I have a go at Rankin .... so nothing that's grand literature :-P
might also give the new Ian McEwan novel a go |
