Rules:

You can recommend anything here but only one item per catagory, eg. one book, one track, one film, one album per day.

I recommend:

Brown's Requiem - James Elroy (a nice gritty dective story from the guy who wrote The Black Daliha and LA Confidential)

Iceblink Luck - Cocteau Twins (because it's brilliant, it lifts me up every single time I hear it)

City of God (Brazilian boys in the hood with 8 year olds, amazing film based on true story set in the favelas)

Come On Die Young - Mogwai (amazing album, full of noise loud and quiet at the same time)

If anyone has tried them let me know what you think,

Thank You

Dubz

Don't know why but today I was thinking about the movie "Children of Men." I am so glad I saw it on the big screen because it was one of the best movies I've ever seen in terms of cinematography.

I just thought about all the various scenes that are shot perfectly.

Album: The Corner of Miles and Gil - Shack. I know I've said this before, but it's truly beautiful.

Film: The Return of the Pink Panther. Good for giggles =)

Hmmm never really fancied Angela's Ashes, not my type of book to be honest

Anchor Song is a great track, I recommended the whole album to Paul C a while back, he really enjoyed it.

The Godfather is pure class, I have the box set, must get it back from me mate

I'd actually go with Protection being a better album but the first four tracks on Mezzanine are amazing!!

Good choices

This isn't really a recommendation since I haven't seen it but Entertainment Weekly just reviewed the DVD and it sounded really good. Perhaps someone has seen Paris, je t'aime?

It's several shorts about love in the City of Love. I don't think it's sappy and cliche at all, at least according to the review.

Book: Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris

I really would like a non-American to read this, especially the story "Jesus Shaves."

Ric's recommandation is like telling him to go to the supermarket to get milk, cereals and ketchup and he comes back with milk, ketchup, washing powder, a rake and hairspray !
