Who is going to step up to the plate and get try and get them some radio interviews, etc. when they're in your town?

My money is on Ric and Goosey. Any other takers?

Best I could do is ask my friends to do the poster but the management would have to approve it if, big IF , they did it for it to be released

You might not remember but I emailed every radio station in town, offered bribes, and eventually got a DJ to pursue having them in for an interview and live set. I got to go. It RAWKED.

We need to help get them some more publicity. And if it benefits us as well, all the merrier!

I would do it for Seattle, BUT I don't even live there... maybe Carla can do it.

I don't think it matters. They don't need to know that. But I think the chances of getting them on the radio are higher during the week. You should still do it though.

Ok, how do I go about this? First I need to find a list of radio stations in Seattle. They were on the radio when they came to KC, but it was all the way out in Warrensburg. Bleck. I didn't want to drive to two college towns in one day. And plus I didn't even know about it.

It probably would be good to work with Carla to know who to target. I think you can google and get a list but she can help you weed out the ones that aren't worth pursuing (country, tejano, rap, etc.).

What I did was go to their website, and first see if they were playing Travis, and then get the emails for the DJs, programming directors, really any email address that's listed that seems like they have some influence on the happenings of the station.

I had a standard email that I was customizing, obviously with their names but maybe something about the station so I sound like I listen, even if I don't. This is probably really where Carla could help.

I don't remember but it was something like:

Dear XXX:
I was looking at the playlist for the last day (week, whatever) and was sad that my favorite band Travis isn't being played. It would be great if you could play them. Their current single "My Eyes" is awesome but I'd be happy with anything by them.

Also as you know (if they have a calendar listing the show) they are coming on XXX. I think you should try and get them in the studio. And if you have them in the studio, I think I should get to come! (I guess you could add some stuff about how great they are live, what great guests they would make but I didn't)

Cheers,
XXX

P.S. I am not above making tasty treats to influence your decision.

I was trying to keep it short, light, and not too "street team."

Don't forget the public radio station if it plays more than classical music. That's who ended up having them on in Austin.

If might just help them get some air play if nothing else.

Ok, I looked up Seattle radio stations. And I found one that I think that would do it. They have the TRAVIS concert listed on the concert calendar so they've gotta be fans... right? It's called 103.7 The Mountain

Go for it. I didn't really think it would work but knew it definitely wouldn't if I didn't try.

well...how do you know they don't already play Travis? i would think if they had 'em on their calendar, that they do play 'em...

Or, are you trying to get them to have Travis in for an interview?
