I know it was part of the Travis Tour but the forest dates were part of another organisation :

Same principle with Festivals.
Thanks for trying to help. What I mean is really a "straight" Travis gig outdoor, not part of a festival or other organisation. It seems that outdoor gigs are nowadays always part of a festival or another bigger organisation that the band's tour itself. |

I really like the idea of an outdoor gig. But with our weather here it would probably be a disaster! lol |

yes that's the problem innit! (i love the sound of innit!!)
That's partly why I wondered because in southern Europe we have amazing venur for outdoor gigs, all those roman antic arenas or theaters and many others, which are often used for outdoor Festival, gigs etc... I saw Jamiroquai for example in Nimes' Arena and I recall Coldplay playing in Verona's Arena and believe me those places are sublime for sound, atmosphere and warmth...I think Travis, their music and audience deserve a gig in a place like that. |

oh get what you mean! that would be absolutely fab. If they ever play Verona, I would travel all the way there ! I guess it would have to be part of a tour. There is a small arena in Avenches, in the French part of Switzerland, which would be cool too. |

Well I'm going to tell you a little secret...I've been thinking of setting up a music festival in the south JUST to be able to schedule them!!!! But not gone farther than dreams so far... |
