I'm traveling to the UK, but a BritRail pass seems very expensive. How much could I expect to shell out to train from Edinburgh to London? Thanks guys.

Can be pretty expensive unless you get a good deal in advance or find a special offer.
An alternative might be the Megabus, I think it takes a full day and it's not nearly as comfortable as the train but it'll only cost you £5 or £10 if you book it in advance |

Dont meet Abs. She'll keep you in a cellar as her gimp before the end of your stay. |

Depends when yer going innit. I booked in advance when I went and it was about £40. But Andrew's right, get the megabus, far cheaper. |

Oh, now that remind me of my wee trip to Glasgow a couple of years ago. 6 hours on a train, sitting the wrong way, from London to Glagow ;) My back was aching and I couldn't feel my butt, but it was worth it!! Edinburgh is great as well!!! Lot's of old history. My friend and I had an interrail pass, but as mentioned earlier you have to be european to get one, and they are very expensive if youre only going on a "short" trip. I'd go with the bus that Andrew and the Grinner is mentioning.
Ha ha, now I just remebered the scene in Trainspotting where Begbie is yelling at Sick Boy on the bus to London for forgetting the cards. So, look out for whisky drinking, knife holding people with 2 kg cocaine in their bags ;) |
