Any of Christopher Brookmyre's books?
I have just finished "A Tale Etched in Blood and Hard Black Pencil" and it was one of the funniest things I have ever read. I totally recomend this author, a very very funny and clever man!

I've read them all, he's brilliant, I actually thought a Tale Etched was one of his weaker books, his first book is brilliant Quite Ugly One Morning, any book that opens with the line Jesus F@ck and it just gets funnier and funnier.
You can read extracts from his other stuff here
You sould also try Carl Hiaasen an American with an nack for desribing the lowest of the low dregs of society. |

I've read most of his books, Quite ugly was very good and ITV done an adaptation of it with james nesbit.
I liked All fun and games. But it was slightly more girlie lol |

I really liked All Fun and Games, it was really enjoyable, fantasy stuff, The only one I wasn't too fond of was Boiling a Frog a bit to political for me, he goes off on one now and agan about the state of the Scottish government etc.
Yeah I seen the adaptation but I wasn't that impressed to be honest, again I think Nesbitt is a bit too likeable, I reckon if you met Jack Parlabane you wouldn't like him that much, he's a cocky arrogant fecker |

I wasn't keen on boiling a frog either, my two least fav subjects (religion and politics). There was one bit in BaF that made me laugh out loud but that was it. One fine Day in the middle of the night was great, it just had me laughing right from the start, with the whole flying arm bit! hehe |
