So, I just attended my first concert since seeing travis on monday, and i think travis has probably ruined future concerts for me. While I enjoyed the one yesterday, i couldn't stop thinking about how much better travis was. So, anyone else have this problem? I mean, I don't know how other bands can even compete. |

Nah, not really. Especially if i've never seen the band before and i really like their music (i don't tend to go to concerts unless i really like the band). It happened a few weeks ago with The Thrills- wasn't expecting much from them, but they were great. Certainly not as good as Travis, but still great. And it's been the same with others- notably The Zutons and Richard Ashcroft in recent memory.
The only band that matches up to Travis on stage however is The Frames. Now there's a live band! :D |

yeah i basically feel the same way. but like one other fan once said on this MB, only Travis can top Travis! So i'm waiting for that to come around :) |

maybe that's it. I was mostly going because my sister wanted to go. I still liked the band, but only as a casual listener. So there's hope then? :) |

I have to agree. Ive seen the Killers twice this year and Snow Patrol once. I thought it couldnt get any better!! I WAS WRONG! Those concerts totally rocked and were filled with adrenaline, but something about the Travis concert left me feeling so much more!!! I dont know what it was, but I have to say Travis puts on the best live shows ever! |

I would have to agree. We saw Travis in San Francisco back in May. We saw Morrissey a couple of weeks after that. While Morrissey was a great show, and always is...I left feeling a little hollow. I just didn't come away from it the way I did after seeing Travis. Maybe it has something to do with it being the 4th time or so seeing Morrissey...but I don't think so. I think Travis has an amazing way of connecting with everyone while they play. Not only is their music infectious, the way they interact with their fans...you just want to go and hug them. :) |

I also tend to go and see bands only when I really like them so I generally enjoy the shows I'm going to. But I also know that Travis put on amazingly special shows and I don't expect that when I'm going to see other bands, I just expect a good performance from a band I like. Plus I try not to compare simply because nothing compares to Travis - each band have their own styles and you can't expect other bands to perform like Travis. So I guess that they didn't ruin future concerts for me. |

2 weeks after Travis'gig in paris last june, I saw Muse! This show was complety different from Travis's, but I liked it..Gigs are never the same, the band who is perfoming makes it special each time! |

I agree, but don't you think that Travis make it extra special? ;-)
Nice to see you here, how have you been? |

Yea, I was dooped into going to John Mayer/Ben Folds. I mean they're ok. When their songs come on the radio, I don't change the station. But it's just, ok. And the energy of the concert was kind of lacking because it was so mellow. |
