do all bands have their name/logo stenciled on their equipment cases? I have admittedly not been to as many rock concerts as I should have! But I noticed I see a little "Travis" peeking out from somewhere in a lot of my photos...and that stenciled logo is how I learned the band's name in the first place. In 2001, I was flipping through channels one night, came across a Storytellers episode on VH1, with a band I didn't recognize, singing a catchy song...kept on flipping, but went back later, in the middle of Fran telling a story, and just got hooked. When they started the next song, there was a camera just panning around, and I saw "Travis" on one of the amp cases, and thought "hmm. maybe that's who this is?" It sounded vaguely familiar at the time... I went out the next day and bought The Invisible Band.
Anyway...just didn't know if it was customary to have the name so prominent on the cases...or if this is something done intentionally to make the name/logo more iconic. |

ummm...they have to so they know it's there stuff. Plenty of gigs have multiple bands playing for a short time and alot use the same types of amps or other equipment....easiest and cheapest way to make your mark on the stuff you own. It's that simple. |

I just wondered if the aesthetic value of it was a planned thing |

They've stayed true to their original design, so it would make sense they would mark everything with that. Again, it's so easy to do, so why not? |

Little known fact- Travis have a flight case belonging to The Subways, or at least that's what it looked like on the side! |

I know that most bands put their name on the drums. |
