I've made a £20 bet with my big brother that I can learn every Travis song (not including b-sides) off by heart on guitar and vocals. I'm a little worried but fingers crossed.
Does anyone else think it can be done??? |

Are we talking lead or rhythm guitar?
Also are you talking about playing them from memory without having to check chords, capos and tuning changes? |

Rhythm guitar.
I have time to learn the songs by checking books and capos and chords but in the end I need to know them all off the top of my head. |

And how long are we talking about learning wise?
I'd keep your £ 20 in your pocket or just give it to your brother now. |

He said as long as it takes but when I'm ready to play for him, I need to get it all right on one go. If I mess up or forget anything just once then I've lost the bet. |

So you've got to sit your brother down and play him 4+ hours of music consecutively, 100% error proof, for twenty pounds? Wow...
Best of luck, though. |

If he says you are wrong pass him the guitar and tell him to play it then.
He'll soon fire you 20 sheets. |

It's 20 to go and watch the real thing for an hour and a half. |

I think you should just keep telling him you're still practicing and take a really long time (like perhaps until you're done with uni) to prepare. |

I don't have to play the whole set non-stop. I can take breaks for dinner and things. It doesn't even need to be in the one day. But when I say to him that I'm ready to play it then I absolutely cannot look at chords or lyrics at all anymore. |
