hi petal,

i've just finished "The Golden Compass", it was awesome! i woke up at about 4am this morning, couldn't get back to sleep so I came into the computer room and finished the last few chapters. wow. the ideas communicated within this book are pretty far out, especially when you consider that this series is aimed/marketed as teenage reading? this ain't your grandfather's Hogwarts I tell you.

i've got to get my hands on "The Subtle Knife" now to see what happens in the next installment, damn you :-D

but seriously folk - thanks a MILLION for turning me onto this series!!

i know what youre saying about how extreme that book is. i love it. i dont see how any kid could actually grasp the real ideals of it. honestly, i dont see most adults grasping the real ideals of it! hahahah.
