I don't condone what someone did - issued bomb threats to some Tesco stores - but I can't help feeling just a little bit pleased that Tesco has lost money (even though it's a tiny sum in their £2.55bn annual profits) while they were closed.
They deserve it.

I totally agree, fuck 'em The Tesco group are a bunch of bastards who deserve it. I do sympathise with the "ground" workers and customers, but the rest of them can fuck right off, Tesco have used aggressive tactics to put small groccers out of business and they are of no fucking use unless you have a fucking car how the fuck are you suppossed to get to and from a store in the middle of nowhere with bags of grocceries if you don't drive |

There's a problem with Tesco in my home town at the moment, if you visit the store twice in one day they fine you because they think you've exceeded the 2 hour restriction in their car park - feckin' stupid. Although why anyone would wanna visit twice in one day is beyond me.

This made me laugh.
As if the News Of The World are going to print anything to do with actual news.
There are 3rd rate "celebrities" who went out with no pants on or who ate a bar of chocolate whilst on a diet which is always far more important front page news. |

Yeaaah, I fear the phrase "News of the World" is sometimes taken far too literally.

Glad i made you laugh !
This paper makes me giggle a lot.
1st of all, all stories are based on Wags shopping trips and their chavistic boyfriends flings - politicians with hookers....People seem to be having one hell of a life ! No dull moment i tell you.
2nd of all, the "world" consists on british ppl only.
Maybe NOTW editors don't know UK's great Empire is long gone... |

Right, but they aren't breaking any competition or monopoly laws are they?
If other people can't compete, is that Tesco's fault? Is it the fault of the Tesco board that they strive to achieve maximum return for their stakeholders? Is it their fault that they can't necessarily get planning permission to build big fuck-off supermarkets in the middle of town because people are so precious about their little retailers?
Of course, there's room for both to thrive, the small retailers and the multi-nationals, but the small retailers have to cotton onto the fact that price is not the only differentiator, diversity of product and service are equally as important.
It's a sign of the evolution of the way we live our lives. That's not Tesco's fault, but they've had the foresight and initiative to tap into it. That's why they're the biggest and they're the retailer model that everyone else looks upto.
This romantic notion that Tesco is this huge demon killing all small retailers mercilessly is purely that, a notion, an idea, a way of sweeping the real issue under the carpet, that the retailers who are going under are just not good enough at what they do, to survive. |
