FAO: Fran, Andy, Dougie, Neil and not forgetting Claus!

I'd like to thank you for the best concert of my life last night. Myself and two friends travelled over on Friday from Belfast to see the gig at Sherwood Forest last night and it was worth the effort and expense. It was our first time seeing Travis, and I doubt the last.

It was just a superb gig.

It started well for me. We had positioned ourselves right at the barrier between where Fran and Andy would be. Luckily, that was also the point where the band would climb up on stage following their 'Rocky' entrance. Fran gave myself and my friend a high 5 (I've been tempted not to wash the hand to retain the Fran-ness, but in hygiene's sake, I did).

So up on the stage they went and straigh into Selfish Jean. Quality. Great song. Then Fran noticed the bother as referred to in this thread:

Absolute fair play for telling it like it was - "You're getting on like....a dick" and jumping down to try to lend some help.

Dougie was in top form. While everyone was looking at Fran's vocals I was watching Dougie as a fellow bass player. I bowed to him, and he gave me a cheeky wink and a grin. Chuffed to bits!

Then Andy. What can I say? I'd been shouting a few things at him: "I love you Andy" and "Stella Artois is a fine drink" to which I got a smile and a wink in response. Then during the All I Want To Do Is Rock solo he crowd surfed right above me. He actually got into the crowd by climbing over my friend to the left of me. It was mentalness. I have 2 brilliant videos that I'll upload in due course. I strummed the guitar too. Delighted :-) Also, apologies to Andy because at one point I felt his behind; trying to keep him up in the air of course! ;-)

Oh and Fran again. The turn-say-hello-to-someone-you-don't-know-bit was great. Also a nice touch when I decided to wave at Fran instead, prompting a wave and a thumbs up back. Ace!

Neil; wonderful on drums. Faultless.

And Claus; I can say no more than Claus! Claus! Claus! Claus!

So anyhoo, thank you again for a super gig. It was worth the numerous hours of flights and bus journeys. No doubt I'll be seeing you again. I'll be hard to miss - I was the eejit at the very front with the red dyed hair :D

All I Wanna Do Is Rock! :-)
