Anyone going to the Forest gig tonight - you are in for a treat, sod the rain, enjoy yourseves!!
Westonbirt last night was awesome.
I wanted to get their really early but we got 30 mins before the gates opened. I didn't think there was much chance of getting in the front row as there were already quite a few people there but most of them had chairs and blankets so I realised they would be sitting further back.
Travis were actually warming up when we were queuing, heard them play Selfish jean which was cool.
When we got in, I started running across the field and one of the security guys told me off - he said "Walk please!", oops! Luckily I got my front row spot and was then joined by my boyfriend Rob and my Mum (her first Travis gig).
The guy from Juno Falls was good, and we loved The Hours.
Travis made their Rocky-theme entrance agin, this time dressed in boxing robes, very fetching!!
As usual they rocked. I was just grinning all the way through and my mouth actually ached at the end, and I still have a funny ear now from being very close to the left speakers!
I was stood almost in front of Dougie who was working it with his bass as usual, I managed to get a couple of cheeky grins from him. And i loved his pink shoes, where did he get them???
Fran was his charming self and I was mesmorised as always, as was my mum. She was taking a photo and he looked right at her so I waved frantically, and he laughed during the song (can't remember which one though!).
The lovely young security guard promised me the set list so I am now proud to say I finally got one after having one snatched away from me years ago! I've posted a photo of it on the gig page.
Selfish Jean (love the t-shirt vid guys!)
Eyes Wide Open (my fave song on the album)
Writing to Reach You
Love Will Come Through
As You Are
My Eyes
Reoffender
Side
Driftwood
Good Feeling (one of my faves and Andy's antics during this are always great, and Claes! Claes! Claes! We love you!)
Closer (awww love it)
Sing
Battleships (they said this is likely to be a single!)
All I want to do is Rock
----------
Turn
Flowers in the Window
Humpty Dumpty Love Song (so nice to har this again as you didn't play it at Koko or Hammermsith)
Why does it always Rain on Me
I've been to three of the recent gigs but that's it for me now, what I am going to do???

It was a really good gig. All the right songs played and Fran seemed on his usual lovely, chatty form, engaging the crowd. And how much am I loving the whole Klaus thing!! |

Cheers Paul, I choose it when the board first started years ago and I am still rather pleased with my choice! Think there was a Dolly Mixed Up Boy on here once too?
So jealous of your photos meeting them - I met them in 1999 at Glastonbury and had my pic with Fran but not been able to scan it on here yet. Must buy a scanner! |

Yeah my Mum is actually going to buy it!
Did you see her wave at the lead singer when he was at the back of the stage when Travis were on? He waved back but looked kind of embarrassed! |

LOL yes I did, by the way I hope your mum doesnt mind swearing, I think The Hours sung the clean versions of there songs at the gig !!!!!. I did see your mum waving, did you get to see the daughter of the guy playing the piano, she managed a little wave but was a little shy :)
Maybe we will bump into each other at the next UK gig, this time I will make sure I say hello :) |

My mum's pretty cool so she'll be ok with swearing!
I didn't see the little girl, don't think mum mentioned her either. Sounds cute though!
