hang on a second now.
on the one hand people are saying that being too honest is a bad thing but by not being completely honest with someone aren't you being phoney with them? |

I didn't say honesty is bad. It is great. What bad is seeing honesty can hurt people by making them lose and stay alone.

right so if you don't want to hurt someone's feelings about something, rather than being honest about a given situation you'd be better served NOT being honest which by extension makes you a phoney, correct? |

Ok Ok haz what is with all this honesty malarky? lol u are obsessing a lil. no? We all aren't perfect, god knows that. Just because u are not honest 100% of the time doesn't make u a phoney >>> I think a phoney is someone totally acting out of character and pretending they are something they are not, alot or all of the time.

good point, i agree with you completely, just trying to get some conversation going with the whole phoney/honest thing glad to be of service. sure beats doing something that resembles work i tell thee. |

Hmm. If you believe what you have in your mind, you shouldn't afraid of hurting people. Sooner or later they will understand. But, little, very very little white lies may be exceptions. And then I wouldn't call myself as a phoney anyway. That's what human relations, friendship and humanism require sometimes. Although, I think even the little white lies should be revealed after a while. |
