what's the song that you would say has been the most important/present/characteristic of a year? You know, that song that as soon as you listen the first notes you think "ah, that year!"
This is my list for the past 10 years:
1997: Lazy Days - Robbie Williams
1998: Pure Morning - Placebo
1999: Why Does It Always Rain On Me? - Travis
2000: Bliss - Muse
2001: Side - Travis
2002: Agitated - Muse
2003: Re-offender - Travis
2004: The Dark Of The Matinée - Franz Ferdinand
2005: The Fallen - Franz Ferdinand
2006: Starlight - Muse

Now, I'm not sure about some songs of being of that particular year, but they make me think about those years and I would say I'm pretty sure they belong to those years anyways. What about you?

The album is from 2001 and Plug In Baby is definitely from that year. I spent a semester in France, and I listened a lot to LeMouv where they loved playing Muse. This was also the time when Sing was released. Plus, they kept playing Robbie William's Love Supreme, where he sang the chorus in French.

Possibly the best French radio station (and that's NOT saying much).

Definitely the best station! It was frequency 87.something, and I remember this cos the wee radio I'd brought couldn't go below 88. Therefore, I was always using my old, BIG walkman to listen to it, even in my room lol

Should come up with a list, but I'm not sure I can remember the songs by year like that.
