I Say....
Tonight in Spain is saint John night...
Everybody goes to the beach at 12 and you have to go inside the sea... and if you do this all the bad things goes away....

Today is Saint John too...in Porto!In portuguese "São João"
we send paper balloons to the air...eat sardines...hit people with plastic hammers...lol...very cool!

wow! is that a supersticious thing? or is it a spiritual/religious thing? i guess the way you put it, sounds a little supersticious, but i might be reading it incorrectly. sorry, i'm just wondering, that's all...

I guess that's what we call St. Hans here. In Danish, St John is called St Johannes, and Hans is short form. Anyhow, we celebrated it on Saturday. It's basically the old Midsummer Night that was given a Christian name to justify the celebration :o) |

you're lucky to live in Spain ! haha
In France, we have the Saint Jean night too.
Basically, people eat (a lot) and then dance around a fire, lol. |

But San Juan (in Spanish) is not celebrated in every city of Spain. It is a tradition in cities near the beach. Here in Madrid we don't celebrate San Juan. |
