BLEW. MY. MIND. So much so, that I came back to the board to tell you.
Thanks to the board I met up with 6 wonderful people at the Boston gig, all of whom I have chit chatted with on this, and facebook. Travis Fans are fantastic!
From the first note to last cheer there was an energy in the room and the lads looked like they had a blast. |

What's the Ivor Cutler Intro about anyway? I read from a post in the board that they've been doing this at least since D.C. I just learned he was a scottish poet / songwriter. Is it a song? Is it a poem? |

He's a poet who passed away a couple of years ago. It's a poem intro prior to singing "Mother"
This is the poem after searching online and from what I remember from the show tonight in NY.
The sky grew black and white. The wind blew under the door.
‘Let us go for a walk,’ said Father.
We rose slowly from our positions towards the door. The door locked tight, we set off in a straggly line, hugging the wall to escape the worst of the effects of the fresh air.
When we left the street and were in the country, Father became instructive.
‘There is a thistle,’ he would cry into the wind, pointing a pale finger, and we looked. Then further along, ‘There is another thistle,’ again pointing. There were lots of thistles in Scotland. We were soon well acquainted with them.
Mother was also informative.
‘Look, a patch of grass!’ And we dutifully twisted our heads, then hugged the dry stone dyke to escape the worst of the effects of the fresh air. |

Thanks, mystruck! :)
I have to admit I didn't quite get it, hehe, but I'll re-read it. |
