Well well well thats a surprise - I missed the UK gig announcement for Jan 30 but now I got my Paris ticket.

Interesting choice, I hope the British public like it, hard to know what Brits like any more.....

Great song, but what's the point of releasing it as a single?

Probably the same point of releasing any song as a single?

Thanks for that. Normally people make a video, usually they make it physically available, perhaps add a couple of b sides. I don't see the point without any of those things. People can download it now if they want it.

I had hoped for some cool b-sides and videos…

I agree. I genuinely don't know what it means that he's releasing it as a single. I'm not trying to be clever or whatever, I just don't know what happens for it to be classed as a single. It's already on iTunes etc right now.

A single off an album is promotion... You (as in us here)know its on itunes but as with any single it gets a new circulation and like the economy , we are in a new world and things get done differently. Maybe the days of being spoiled with accessories are limited...for now anyway. I hope he does it with most of them off Wreckorder as they all deserve the airplay a single gives

So it's to get it on the radio? I'll listen out for it... It's a great song, and it should be on the radio.

Yes, I think thats the idea? I hope it works. They will probably start playing Buttercups then , thats what they seem to do! Such is Life! Great idea . I rememeber when Beatles had 2 singles in charts . Its reinforcement.

I think this was one of the coolest songs for him to release as a single because he wrote it for his son! At the concert I was at he explained that his son didn't really like all his other songs so he wrote one for him. He said that his son loves it because of the Jumbo Jet and the snail :). At our concert he took a picture of one of Clay's toys in front of the front row. Unfortunately we didn't know about the concert early enough to get good tickets so we were on the balcony :(.
Great show!

I guess it's also for folk who haven't heard of Wreckorder yet, start the ball rolling and get them to buy the whole album. If an actual single CD with b-sides, artwork etc were produced I most probly would buy it but as a download there is no point. Ahhh the good old times of the CD single ! :-)
