I see all these long threads and can't help but wonder what some of your favorite shows you've ever been to are. Whether it was the journey you took to see it, the people you saw it with, the expirience you had before during or after the show, or the relationship you made there.

My personal favorite would probably be a Dave Matthews Band show I saw in June of 2010 in Columbus, Ohio. I had seen DMB over a dozen times but this one was special. The road trip I took to get there, the girl I had by my side, the music they played. It was an electric evening and on top of all that it took place in a Baseball stadium (Baseball being my favorite sport) it combined two things I love with all my heart. I have seen hundreds of bands in numerous venues in numerous states, but on this particular night standing in the summer air in centerfield of a Baseball Park with a girl I loved very much it all felt perfect. That was one of the best concerts of my life.

I can't pick one.

Mogwai - Mar 2009, Academy, Dublin. Brilliant gig, sound was tight, played my favourites, great atmosphere, excellent company.

Public Enemy - 1994, Barrowlands, Glasgow. Public Enemy's farewell tour, the band had just released Muse Sick'n'Hour Mess Age and we thought they would be promoting their new album little did we know they were planning to concentrate on solo careers and would be splitting for a while. Add to that the fact the Flavor Flav was in Jail for threatening his neighbour with a gun. He was released the day before the gig. He appeared on stage in a full length tartan trenchcoat and an oversized kangol with eye holes cut in it. They did a 3hour set of all the hits, brilliant gig.

The Specials - Nov/09, Olympia, Dublin. 30th Anniversary reunion tour, Fucking great gig I had waited 30 years to see them it was worth it. I have never seen so many scary skinheads in one place... till the music started and the place went mental, bodies bouncing everywhere without a single bit of aggro/trouble.

Honourable mention to 65 Days of Static in The Button Factory, Dublin, '08 another fantastic gig.

Top four at the moment must be:
Crowded House, St George's Hall, Bradford, 1992
Depeche Mode, Hartwall areena, Helsinki 2001
Teenage Fanclub, Nosturi, Helsinki 2010
Any Nits gig ever (seen them 5 or 6 times)

But the list might change.
