From another thread someone mentioned that they had their first Legal drink in a bar called Zaphod Bebblebrox...
That got me thinking of interesting names for bars...
Rufus T Firefly's was in Glasgow might even still be there and is named after Grocho Marx's character in Duck Soup I believe it had a "sister" establishment by the name of Otis B Driftwood's from A Night at the Opera.
King Tuts Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow is a music venue pub/club type thing, I remember seeing a mate's band there, Charlie Don't Surf, supporting a little known band at the time by the name of Catatonia
The Cat Dragged Inn was the name of a long gone pub on the quays in Dublin.

There's a chain of pubs in Helsinki, commonly known as fish bars, as all their names are fish related, kind of "Happy Halibut" or "Smiley Salmon", but in Finnish (Kaunis kampela ja Iloinen lohi to name a couple). |

I live across the street from this pub

It's called "Hole i' the Wa' inn" because in the 17th century women were not allowed in the pub and so they had to be served their drink through a hole in the wall |

There's one in Paisley gets it's name from when it used to serve "carry outs" through a Hole in the Wall under one of the arches at Gilmour St. Station.
There's also one in Dublin not far from where I live, It's called the Hole in the Wall because it's situated net to an old pedestrian entrance into The Phoenix Park, Europe's largest walled park. It was also the site of the longest bar in Ireland as it used to run the length of the building but they've put an "offy" in the middle and a restaurant at the end these days. Oh and the service and attitude of the staff is fucking diabolical.
