Ha! And I just saw this on twitter, by jian ghomeshi who hosts a radio show on CBC radio called Q. Former member of Moxy Frubish, and you may remember his from an infamous interview with Billy Bob Thornton last year that went viral...
jianghomeshi My opening essay on Q this morn will be dedicated to a great Canadian tradition: Bags of milk. Yes...we put milk...in bags. You heard me. |

I bet she doesn't explain it as well as Ryan does. And her hair is nowhere near as grand. |

Fabulous!
I think we had milk bags in Finland some 50 years ago. You can still find rugs crocheted out of shredded milk bags in the sauna dressing rooms in the countryside. There were other ways to recycle them, too.
Now we have cartons in 0,5, 1 and 1,5 liters. They're flattened and recycled. |

Haha!
I still don't get the whole milk bag thing. In a plastic container atleast there is a LID so the milk stays fresher. Hmmmm that's my only issue with milk in a bag. A clothes peg just doesn't cut it for me. I want my milk to stay as fresh as possible! |

it is a little hole! it doesnt go bad any quicker than regular milk.
I just have a little 1L carton in my fridge at work because Im really the only one that uses it. But one of my co-workers started stealing some this week and said "i'll bring some in next week to make up for it. Do you mind if I bring a bag?"
do I MIND!? |

Oh so much to say....
There were several funny parts in the article but I think my favorite line was "Only in Ontario," someone reassured the panicky herd. "They also cheer for the Leafs, so you can see where the problem begins."
Poor Kristy, how you suffer being lumped in with Leafs fans.
I have no comment on Kayte's post.
Mili: the thought of stepping on a rug made out of recycled milk bags makes me want to blow chunks.
Also, back to the article....BEER in a bag? |

I was hoping you would skip over that part. But I cheer for a different Ontario team! one that has won 11 games in a row! And still drinks from bags o milk |

They're washed first, of course! The only snag is that these milk bag products tend to be whiteish. |

We use them for yoghurt bags or chocolate milk bags too.

A friend told me that when he went to Bolivia they sold soda in bags. Coke in a bag. |
