Yesterday afternoon my Dad got home from work and brought a magazine. I was reading it when happily, saw this:

When I translated it with Babel Fish, I got this gem of a sentence:
Its singer, Fran Healy, this anus is going to publish an album alone that, at the moment, has the provisional title of Wreckorder.
This "anus?" I guess not putting the little ~ over the "n" makes a big difference. Ano=anus, año=year. Is that true?
We also get: It does not paint bad the thing.

Yes, you're right, Kayte! Ano = Anus and Año = Year.

LMAO! It's a familiar expression, that's why you get that amazing sentence. It means something like "things aren't looking bad" or "things are looking good"... I don't know. Ask Bodi, she's the bilingual one xD.

Well, thanks for the bilingual thing ;) Haha.
Online translators are very funny sometimes. But Juli got ir right: ano = anus; año = year. That's why it's so funny when people who don't speak Spanish say Feliz Ano instead of Feliz Año to say Happy New Year lmao
I have to say that I love the it does not paint bad the thing sentence. Hahaha. Things that sound normal in your own language can be a total disaster when someone translates them word by word. |
