Met in 1991 in a watercolor painting class. We stayed after to finish a project on the 2nd day of class, yada yada yada, we've been together ever since. |

she was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar. The five years we have had have been such good times but now I think it's time I lived my life on my own |

Don't...don't you want her? You know I don't believe you when you say that you don't need her. |

A mutual friend brought me to his church and introduced me to Brian. I don't particularly remember our first meeting, partly because I met many people that day. A few weeks later we met again at this same friend's apartment and had a really great conversation and I remember thinking he was so nice and cute.
What is funny and so telling of the guy/girl differences is that he vividly remembers our first meeting and thinking I was so pretty but doesn't really remember the second time we met when we had our nice talk. Guy: looks Girl: conversation
We were friends that spring and at the end of the semester we were talking about how we would both be in Houston for the summer and we should hang out. I knew in that moment that we would start dating and it really freaked me out. Later he said he somehow knew too.
This same mutual friend I think sensed that I was about to flee for the hills and took me out for coffee to discuss why I should date Brian. Looking back it's slightly random and hilarious that he did that but it was good.
That summer (1996) in Houston we started dating and have been together ever since. I still think he is nice and cute. |

We met very briefly in a pub during a fireworks display and about 10 minutes before last orders on my last evening in London (holiday). Letters, postcards, mix tapes, phone calls and visits followed. Bothering postmen started with postcards, but soon turned into several letters a week. It got romantic after a few months of writing. That was 20 years ago. |

Ugh, you make it sound so simple. "Once I've made this watercolor painting and look! now I'm happily married!." I want to cry. |
