on the acoustic tour Fran has been telling a story before As you are about a poem that he was given by an old man when he was young.
it starts like this
As you are, I once was. As I am, you soon shall be.
there was a second line to it, does anybody remember it? |

remember this and pray for me |

thanks for sharing the entire poem--i went to the show the past sunday in somerville and remember fran talking about it...the story goes like...fran was 6 and on a train with his mom, there was this old man (a teacher, if i remember clearly) sitting next to them, who played with fran and wrote this poem on a pencil box (don't remember exactly)...but when fran read this poem to the audience, i was really touched by it...the words just hit me in the chest! so thanks again for remembering the entire poem and sharing it! |
