Agreed. It was an all around wonderful night of meeting new people and getting an intimate look at a truly great band. I'm still giggling. :)

At last, we (and by "we" I mean people from far, far away) get a chance to see Andy playing the piano in Chinese Blues!! Brilliant!

It's hard to know what to say, where to begin. Also don't want to ruin it for people who are going to see the show with sharing the anecdotes. We did get the live CD and it features Fran's intros to songs so even if you don't get to the show you will get a taste of that. Ours has Holiday on it so all of you chomping at the bit to hear will at some point get to hear this early version of it. Perhaps once THE LAW has been lifted. ; )

We did get some video and you've probably seen some on youtube but neither of us felt right taking video of Holiday since it's a new song.

OK for you nutters asking for more detail about the new song, here is a fix:

What struck us first was Andy's guitar. We don't know all the musical terms but his guitar riff (?) totally stood out. There is a piano type quality to his strumming/melody line. Sorry, we're not sure how to say it partly because we are so tired! Sandy thought Fran's singing reminded her of Bob Dylan in a good way. I didn't hear it until she said it but I totally agree. On first listen I (Anne) thought it sounded like this odd mix of Bowie and the Beatles. There is a sense of longing in the lyrics while keeping a driving, flowing beat.

Hearing it once live and on the CD twice we are both liking it more and more. We can see how it can develop it more with the full band into a really great song.

Fran and Andy worked the merch table afterwards. They were so gracious and spoke to everyone. We were dead last in line but we sort of chose to do that and it was totally worth it.

For those going to shows they have the naked torso tour shirt for sale as well as the TRAVIS TRAVIS TRAVIS shirts in pink in a fitted girl T-shirt and green for boys. All were $20 and the CD is $10.

We had a great time, we are resting up for the Austin show tonight!

Video and pics to follow later. (Sandy's man has the camera with all the pics so she'll do it when she gets home)

What an awesome show last night - I think probably one of the best concerts I've ever been too. The meet and greet afterwards was totally worth the wait. I love it when musicians make themselves so available to their fans...

Naked torso tshirts?? Do you both now own one? Do they just say "naked torsos" or ARE THEY naked torsos?

okay, didnt mean to sound like a total perv. It is just a key part of the show.
