EDIT:
Ok folks, voting has opened, if you alredy have an account... vote! :)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The noughties are close to an end and absolute radio is searching for the song of the decade... I love Travis with all my strength (ok, 99% people here does) but we can't avoid a real fact: any Travis single won't be considered as the main song of this decade. However I do believe we have to vote. I think it will be a top 50 and would be totally inacceptable if they don't include to Travis in that list, don't you?
Now, what we have to do? First of all: create an account on absoluteradio.co.uk (if you don’t have any)...voting starts next week, I think. Don't know how will be the votation sistem but, just in case, we have to agree on just one song? in that case: which song?
"Sing" appears on the most played list of 2001.
p.s. check the absolute radio's picks... Outkast, yes... Travis? no :(

Yeah, I'm in. I already have an account so no effort reqiured whatsoever :D
So what do we think the song of the decade is? Maybe:
One Day Like This - Elbow
Time To Pretend - MGMT
Run - Snow Patrol
Yellow - Coldplay
What are your favourites? |

I don't agree with Absolute Radio's favorites, I would say Fix You perhaps...or maybe Beautiful Day OR When You Were Young OR Everybody's Changing OR all of Bruce Springsteen's latest releases....OOOR all Travis songs mixed together ;)
So how do we do? Are we all going to vote for Sing? |

I would loooove to vote for "Side", I truly believe is MY song of the decade, but if we have to choose a song, there's no other option: "Sing" :)

I think "One day like this" will win, they talk and talk about this song all the whole day (at least Christian O'Connell), it's a very very veeery nice song but ...deserves to win? i'm not sure ... "Yellow" is another strong competitor but is not my favourite.

I don't have a song of the decade. Impossible. But Sing is the most likely Travis song to receive votes so I'm happy to go along with Sing. I couldn't even name a shortlist of songs, there's far too many. Muse are my band of the decade after releasing four amazing, 5 star albums. Couldn't pick top song though. |

Hmm my favourite songs would include:
Coldplay: Clocks
Elbow: One Day Like This
Travis: Sing/Side (I like Side better now, but that's mainly due to overplaying of Sing :P)
Chili Peppers: Universally Speaking
Keane: Somewhere Only We Know
Oasis: Songbird
Muse: Black Holes and Revelations
Radiohead: Pyramid Song
U2 and Kings of Leon deserve a mention in there somewhere as well.
