I know this question comes up now and again when the board becomes quiet but three days worth of posts on one page ?? I also noticed that a lot of the "long timers" are posting less and less or have disappeared all together. Are social networking sites to blame ? Or has everyone just drifted away ?

I reckon I'm one of those people who don't come here too often anymore, and I don't blame social networking sites coz I don't really speak to any boardies on there. I've most definately drifted away - I'm gettin on with my life and doing more things instead of sitting on the internet all day. I feel happier and healthier that way :)

I really hope not. Maybe it's the spring and end of schools, final examinations etc? Mind you, not everywhere does the school year finish now.
I'm supposed to be working, been pretty busy lately.
Did you take the job, Dubz? |

I think we're definitely lacking a few people to serve as "lifes (if that's a word) of the party." People to make things interesting. And by interesting I don't mean idiots who make us want to gouge their eyeballs out. I mean fun people with quick wit.
I'd also say that posting begets posting. If you check the board and it's the same as it was 2 hours ago, you tend to flip back to Facebook and see what's happening there. If you come here and there are new posts, you are more apt to add to them.
I'm not very good at thinking up new stuff to talk about, but I'm more than happy to add to a conversation. I'll admit, I do most of my communicating through Facebook these days, but it's probably just chit-chat that wouldn't appeal to the mass of boardies anyway. But it is stuff that I probably would have added to the board months ago.
The board is never going to stay the same. People grow up, go to school, get jobs and move on. If their interest in Travis wanes, they may forget all about the board.
And too, the board means different things to different people. For some it's just a way to blow off spare time. For others, we've developed real friendships and it is...hard to explain...but more than just a band messageboard.

l don't know what's going on. Maybe it's all about the posts, or it is just that everyone is busy or they are just to bored of the board. Hope because they're busy. Anyway, it's sad. |

Not yet? I chucked that job for a reason. If I do take it back it will be on my terms

Agreed 100% but it just feels more and more are "moving on"

Sometimes life is like that. One day you, too, will move on...hopefully for a wonderful reason. But you can always keep in touch with people if you really want to.

That's so sad! I don't really know. I love this place and many of the people who post here, so I really hope it's not dying.
I find myself posting more on the spanish speaking threads than on the rest. I don't know why that is. |
